Vision 2000 supports the ROH & "Do it for Daron"

Ottawa still grieves the tragic loss of Daron Richardson. Our hearts go out to Stephanie, Luke, and Morgan Richardson.

Do It For Daron (D.I.F.D) Purple Pledge Day is Feb.8th, 2011 – and Ottawa has been asked to show its support. Many local schools (including my daughters’ school, Elmwood) are participating.  And the message the schools are sharing is that “The goal of this day is to raise public awareness of teen suicide and depression, to share the Richardson family’s message of hope and empowerment, to raise funds to support The Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health, and to facilitate open and supportive dialogue.”

Fundraising efforts of D.I.F.D. will be tied to fundraising efforts for the Royal Ottawa Hospital (ROH), and its 2011 Inspiration Awards Gala on March 4, 2011.

My company, the Vision 2000 Travel Group, has donated a prize to go with the “New York City” getaway for the live auction. V2K  has offered a 2 night stay at the prestigious Lowell Hotel in Manhattan. This weekend stay, in a one bedroom suite, sells for $1295 USD per night, for a $3000 USD value!  See

And, in addition to the efforts of my terrific company, I personally want to help with fundraising and promote awareness. So, I’m reaching out to my client base, and my sphere of influence, for your assistance.

When you call to book your family’s vacation package with me, please identify yourself as a “friend of the ROH.”  For every family’s vacation package booked with me from today, until one month after the ROH gala on Mar.4.11 , I will make a $10 donation to the ROH’s “Daron fund.”

It’s really that simple. All you need to do is remember to mention that you are a “friend of the ROH” when making your vacation package bookings with me from Feb.4.11-Apr.4.11, and I will do the rest.

Don’t forget to tell your friends, clients, and sphere of influence about the initiative, and to mention that they are a “friend of the ROH” when they get in touch with me.

Please call me at 613-837-0699 or email me at .  Help me “Do it for Daron!”

(Please note: my donation is tied to the purchase of a vacation package – whether that package is individually customized for your family, or a pre-arranged tour operator or cruise line package. Unfortunately, due to cuts in airline commissions to the travel agency community, I am not able to include the purchase of airline tickets on their own. )
