Virtuoso Week is AWESOME

I just returned from Virtuoso Travel Week – and – it was awesome! virtuoso focus – travel week is awesome
Over 4400 of my colleagues in travel took over the entire Bellagio hotel (and flooded into Vdara, Aria, and others) for Virtuoso travel week. I had a full day of VAST globetrotting with my Virtuoso Active & Specialty Partners (VAST) on Saturday, followed by professional development on Sunday morning with a Vision Travel party, the opening ceremonies, and the opening reception; and then 4 days of speed-dating meetings along with dinners and cocktail parties and networking extraordinaire.  The speed dating sessions were comprised of 352 four minute meetings with suppliers – what I call speed dating on crack!  But it’s making a personal connection with Virtuoso hoteliers, cruise line partners, tour operators, and destination specialists – so I can use the power of that personal connection when I plan your next vacation!
Here’s a slide from the opening ceremonies about the attendees.
And this about sums up my transformation from actuary (my prior career) to Virtuoso travel advisor – I moved from ROI to ROL!
It was a very busy week, and intense information overload, but strengthening and making new connections with suppliers is what it is all about. Here are a couple of snaps from the opening reception – and here I am with Mary Britt Murrin, head of Tauck’s River Cruise department.
Virtuoso produced a video on human connections – why we travel.  And VIrtuoso was covered on Katie Couric’s show.
