Top Travel Trends for 2017

Let’s have a look at the top travel trends in 2017, as per the Virtuoso Luxe Report, see here.
The top trends are:
1.  Multi-generational travel
2. Active or adventure trips
3. River cruising
4. Travel with immediate family
5. Celebration travel.
Let’s have a look at these trends below.
Of course, there are many ways to combine these trends. I have some notes below about Disney and multi-generational families going to celebrate a retirement or a milestone anniversary. I also have upcoming trips with clients this March break to celebrate high school graduation – such as doing a family safari to Africa, or going to Galapagos. How many ways to combine. Perhaps an Amazon River Cruise with your grandparents to celebrate your 50th birthday is a way to do all 5 trends together?
Last week’s newsletter focused on top cruising destinations of 2017 — see top cruising .

And,the week’s prior focused on top emerging destinations of 2017 – see emerging destinations

Disney for Family Celebrations
Family Vacations
Mickey still attracts.
This week alone, I’ve been dealing with grandparents taking their multi-generational family to Disney for a holiday, and parents taking their adult children to Disney to celebrate a parent’s milestone birthday, or mom and dad’s big anniversary. Families want to get away together, and celebrate being together.
I’m a graduate of the Disney College of Knowledge, and have to update my education every year. I’ve been to Disney on Virtuoso travel trips (staying at off-site Disney hotels like Waldorf Orlando and Ritz Carlton Grand Lakes and Loews Portofino.) I’ve stayed at the Four Seasons Orlando to celebrate my own daughter’s sweet sixteen. I’ve been to Walt Disney World 26 times now – as a young couple, being pregnant, with a toddler, and with tweens and teens. I know the ins and outs. I’ve also been to Disneyland. I’ve taken Disney Cruises with extended family. I get the appeal. Disney knows how to do family travel up right.
And I know Disney.
Here are a couple of my family’s snaps.
