Meadowood Napa Valley – 12 Days of Christmas for the Foodies

When I was at Virtuoso’s Travel Mart in Vegas in August, I met some terrific folks from Meadowood Napa Valley.   Tamra Waslewski, the Director of Leisure Sales, and I hit it off immediately. She’s a great gal, and a terrific ambassador for her property. I’ve had some clients visit Napa recently, who’d stayed at Auberge du Soleil and Calistoga Ranch, so Tamra took the opportunity to educate me about the wonders of Meadowood for clients with a similar foodie/ wine bend.  (And she introduced me to Alain Negueloua as well, the General Manager of Meadowood.)

How terrific a find is Meadowood?  Well – the hotel itself is a Relais & Chateaux property, and is spread over 250 acres. Even better for my clients, it is a Virtuoso property – which means I can negotiate special amenities on your behalf!

The Meadowood opened in 1979 as the Napa Valley’s first luxury resort. The Restaurant at Meadowood earns a Three-Star rating on the Michelin guide, and offers a casually elegant dining experience featuring a modern approach to Napa Valley cuisine by Chef Christopher Kostow. The resort has all the amenities you’d expect – golf, tennis, croquet, hiking, swimming, fitness, spa, and wine education under the watchful eye of its own wine director… in addition to the restaurant! (Meadowood is the only Napa Valley resort or hotel with a master sommelier on staff on a full-time basis, dedicated exclusively to enriching their guests’ knowledge and enjoyment of wine.)

So – what do you get the foodie or wine aficionado on your Christmas list? Or, if you’ve been really good, what do you give yourself?

Have a look at this pdf for a description of their terrific 12 Days of Christmas that they’re putting on as a special event. The Twelve Days of Christmas 2011- Travel Professional (Or see here for more details http://www.meadowood.com/ )
